What NIST Traceability Can Mean When Measuring Samples

What is NIST?

Over the last 100 years, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has continued building their brand and institution by conducting world-class research by promoting innovation and industrial competitiveness to the nation's technology infrastructure, educational institutions, manufacturers, and other industries. NIST also provides cutting edge research that promotes excellence that benefits companies within the nation by setting industrial standards that continually improve products and services. The NIST Standard Reference Material (SRM) is essentially a document that certifies any additional NIST-specific criteria which are issued to ensure the development of accurate methods of analysis, calibrating measurement systems in various procedures, and ensuring the integrity of maintaining quality assurance guidelines. According to NIST, the value reported on an SRM certificate or certificate of analysis for which NIST has the highest confidence in its accuracy in that all known or suspected sources of bias have been fully investigated or accounted for by NIST.

Incorporating NIST Traceable Oils
