SAN RAMON, CA – January 17, 2023 – The original m-VROC® was officially released in 2009. It's been 13 years since our flagship viscometer was released and we have hundreds of customers using the viscometer to this day. Today, RheoSense, Inc. is proud to introduce the new m-VROC® II, the high-precision, industry-leading small sample viscometer - measuring viscosity for sample volumes as small as 15 microliters!
The second generation m-VROC still measures viscosity with the highest accuracy (2% of reading) and repeatability (0.5% of reading), but is now equipped with sample retrieval and recovery. Sample retrieval refers to the reversal of flow to refill the test syringe with a portion of the loaded volume. The retrieval process allows for more extensive testing on a single loaded sample volume which can include multiple repeats, shear rates, and temperatures. Sample recovery involves a final retrieval of the entire volume back into the test syringe so that the sample can be retained for further testing.
m-VROC II measures shear rate ranges from 0.86 ~ 2,020,000 across a wide temperature range (4 - 70°C), and can run a single sample measurement in under a minute!
"Our team has actively been working on our new innovative viscometer. The m-VROC® II pushes the capabilities we’ve seen from our previous products providing a wider temperature range to test more types of samples. We are looking to utilize smaller sample volume to accelerate development across all industries. We look forward to innovating with our partners. ." - Alex Tiscareno, Senior Mechanical Engineer
m-VROC II provides viscosity characterization of both Newtonian and non-Newtonian samples, including:
- Volatile Chemicals
- Oils and Lubricants
- Conductive/ Graphene Inks
- Electrolyte Solutions
- Skincare Serums and Fragrances
- Cannabis
- Proteins
- Formulation
- Injectability
- Opthalmic Solutions
- Whole Blood/Blood Plasma & Serum
The m-VROC II comes equipped with an intuitive software, allowing users to easily save and load protocols, perform shear rate and temperature sweeps, export data into PDF/Excel, and apply non-Newtonian corrections with the push of a button. This intuitive software is also 21 CFR part 11 compliant, providing multi-level user access (standard user, IT admin, super admin etc.) and ensuring data integrity, preventing users from potentially manipulating your data.
With the extreme repeatability and small footprint of VROC® technology, m-VROC II the ideal tool for all your research and routine viscosity measurements.
"I am excited about unlimited sample testing using only 15 microliters, ease of use, small footprint and exceptional VROC accuracy and repeatability" - Rick Paulino, Regional Sales Manager
m-VROC II will be available for demonstration at the following upcoming events:
- March 1-3, 2023: RheoSense End User Forum
- April 3 – 6, 2023 World Vaccine Congress
- April 23 – 26, 2023 National Biotech Conference
- May 15 – 19, 2023 PEGS Boston, MA
